- In this package you should have found font software for a font entitled
- "Stick Letters." Macintosh Type 1 PostScript, Windows TrueType and Windows
- ATM Type 1 fonts are the three formats in which the font was originally
- released.
- Install the font as you would any other font.
-
- The Stick Letter alphabet looks
- like Bodoni letters upon which whimsical stick figures have been
- superimposed.
- The original source was a French one, circa 1886. The Stick Letter font does
- not include the letters w or y. There are no uppercase letters in the font.
-
- The computer code that produces the Stick Letter font is copyright (c) 1994
- by David Rakowski. All Rights Reserved. The font was originally uploaded only
- to Compuserve's DTPFORUM in August, 1994; you may, however, upload the font
- elsewhere providing all the files you got in this package (this readme file
- included) are included. You may give copies to friends on disk with the same
- conditions.
-
- Commercial and noncommercial distribution of this software on disk is
- strictly prohibited. It is the font author's wish that the font only be
- available to downloaders. User groups may post the font on their bulletin
- boards, but may not distribute the font on their nominal charge shareware
- disks.
-
- Windows TrueType users: the font contains complex characters that retain the
- "rough" quality of the original source. For this reason, some characters may
- not display or print correctly, especially at larger sizes. If this is so,
- kindly edit your WIN.INI file in your WINDOWS subdirectory (with any word
- processor) and, below the TrueType heading, insert the following line:
-
- outlinethreshold = 70
-
- This may help, and it may not. Note that inserting this line will affect the
- output of every font in your system, and possibly not to your liking.
-
- The Stick Letters font is freeware. You may keep and use the font without
- charge, providing you follow these conditions: 1) you do not sell the font to
- anyone, whether or not at a profit; 2) you do not try to contact the font
- author (technical support is $875 per minute for those who ignore #2); and 3)
- you read the following statement:
-
- "Please send too much money to Columbia Composers, c/o Cynthia Lemiesz, Music
- Department, 703 Dodge Hall, Columbia University, New York, NY 10027." (your
- donation is tax-deductible, providing it is voluntary; you do not need to
- make the donation as a shareware payment, since the font is free).
